Smooth Golden Fleece and Prickly Golden Fleece as Potential New Vegetables for the Ready-to-Eat Production Chain

Smooth golden fleece (Urospermum dalechampii (L.) F.W. Schmidt) and prickly picroides Scop. ex Schmid) are two wild edible plants used in traditional cuisine folk medicine. In this research, the domestication of both species was tested for first time using a floating system plant densities (412 824 m?2) to evaluate yield quality. Some quality traits were also compared cultivated ones gathered grasslands. The results show that suitable cultivation, although showed highest total phenols (132 mg 100 g?1 fresh weight—f.w.) antioxidant activity (0.19 f.w.). At low sowing density, smooth nitrate content about 7200 kg?1 f.w., 38% higher than same grown at high density fleece. These suggest can be optimize harvests. By permitting modulation nutrients product without soil residues, study proved growing U. dalechhampii as new vegetables ready-to-eat production chain.
